| DISC RISES INTO VESSEL ON
OPENING.
The Fetterolf “Poppet”- type Ram-Seal valve
utilizes a disc which rises into the vessel or reactor on opening to
break through any material which might crust or bridge.
The rising disc utilizes the same
Ram-Seal system which has proven itself as a drop-tight, zero leakage
design which may be used for full vacuum systems or pressurized
systems up to 5000PSI.
On closing, the resilient seal-ring on the
disc(plunger head) receives a reactive force from the compression ring
contacting a land inside the valve body. This compressive force
expands the seal ring in all directions, forming a wide-band seal
against the body wall and the disc. Metal-to-Metal seating is
available as is a removable-replaceable seat design.
On opening, the plunger rises into
the vessel, allowing the fluid to drain around the valve disc rod.
Design and manufacturing flexibility
of Fetterolf allows dimensions to vary and match those of existing or
obsolete Poppet – type values in every detail.
