P-Globe

The P-Globe valve is a unique Y-Globe valve that has the highest Cv and lowest Delta P of any globe isolation valve in the world. This is achieved through a patented design and special sealing mechanism called the T-Seal.

P-Globe Valve

The P-Globe has been specially designed to reduce pressure loss across an isolation valve and have a high Cv. It has the added benefit that it can be used in applications where line pigging is required.

The high Cv and low pressure drop is achieved through the body design which allows the oversized plunger to fully retract so that it does not impinge on the flow area. So the the flow is essentially equal to the full bore diameter of the pipeline. In order to allow the valve to seal in the closed position a unique sealing arrangement - T-Seal - has been used. The result is a somewhat larger valve than the line size, but one that delivers unbeatable Cv and minimal pressure loss.

T-SEALĀ® PRINCIPLE

T-SEALĀ® PRINCIPLE

The T-Seal is a unique sealing system utilizing a soft metal (such as Titanium) near the tip of the plunger (Ram). The primary sealing is accomplished when the Ram moves to the closed position making the titanium seal ring hit the seating area. The seating area has a coined surface where the softer metal of the seal ring impresses itself on the sharp edge and harder coined surface. This creates a Class VI leak tight and resilient seal.

The seal ring and seat material are chosen based on differential in hardness which has the added advantage that the seal ring becomes the part to receive most wear and tear. Replacing the seal ring is easier and more cost effective than resurfacing seat areas in more conventional valve sealing mechanisms.
